Biodiverse City

The agenda for a city that promotes biodiversity.

At the present time, biodiversity conservation is as important as carbon neutrality or adaptation to climate change. Therefore, the conservation of species, the preservation of habitats and environmental services must be included in urban and sustainable development policies.

New cities must reconcile people with biodiversity, creating solutions that are ecologically and economically sustainable, socially just, politically participatory and culturally vibrant.

In response to urban challenges, environmental services and nature-based solutions are the way to prevent flooding, to mitigate extreme temperatures or to reduce pollution, promoting leisure and better health conditions for the inhabitants.
